De Nederlandse coureur Max Verstappen heeft de Canadese Formule 1 Grand Prix gewonnen. Met deze overwinning behaalde hij zijn 41e overwinning, waarmee hij het record van de legendarische Braziliaanse coureur Ayrton Senna evenaarde. Op het circuit van Montreal versloeg hij huidig wereldkampioen Fernando Alonso van Aston Martin met meer dan negen seconden, terwijl de derde plaats naar Lewis Hamilton van Mercedes ging. Red Bull viert ook zijn 100e Formule 1-zege.
